Farah Fersi is a musician, composer, and virtuoso of the Qanoun, a central instrument of the Arab musical tradition. Known for her distinctive ten-finger technique, she brings a contemporary and deeply personal approach to the instrument, exploring its full expressive potential. Her musical language blends Arab classical heritage with jazz, Sufi poetry, and global sounds, bridging tradition and innovation to give the kanun a renewed, modern voice.
Fersi has performed as a soloist on prestigious stages across the Middle East and Europe, including appearances in the United Arab Emirates, Iran, Tunisia (Carthage), Germany, Qatar, Spain, France, and England. She has collaborated with Jordi Savall at his festival and was part of the Yemeni Symphony, presented in Paris, Doha, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai.
Currently, Fersi is developing new interdisciplinary projects that merge music with other art forms, including her latest work Dha7ka Sourire, to be premiered across the Middle East and Egypt. With artistic integrity and bold vision, she continues to expand the expressive boundaries of the kanun, offering audiences a universal, sincere, and profoundly human musical experience.
