Janelle Bernardo

Janelle Bernardo is a Filipino session drummer, band leader, and music educator based in the United Arab Emirates. Renowned for his electrifying stage presence and technical skill, he has performed at leading events including the Dubai Jazz Festival, Mother of the Nation, and the Viva Las Vegas Festival.

As band leader and drummer of The Swing Revue—the UAE’s premier swing band and a Timeout Dubai award winner—Bernardo brings vintage jazz to life with contemporary energy. Under his leadership, the band has performed for prestigious clients such as Lanvin, Pacha Dubai, and the Dubai World Cup, establishing itself as a cornerstone of the regional jazz scene.

Beyond the stage, Bernardo serves as Head of Drums and Percussion at The British School Al Khubairat. In this role, he inspires the next generation of musicians, combining rigorous training with a passion for rhythm and performance. His career reflects a balance of artistry and education, contributing to both the cultural vitality and musical future of the UAE.
