Safeya Alblooshi is a UAE-based sound artist specializing in found sound, explored through participatory performances and installations. Alblooshi’s work has been presented at leading cultural venues and festivals including Expo 2020 Dubai, Louvre Abu Dhabi, Alserkal Avenue, IRCAM Forum, London Design Biennale, Festival X, Sharjah Art Foundation, and the Smithsonian Folklife Festival.
Alblooshi was part of Numoos second cohort in 2023 at the NYUAD Arts Center, where she also curated the fourth edition of ElectroFest. She is the founder and organizer of Resound UAE, a platform supported by the National Grant Program for Culture & Creativity that fosters experimentation and collaboration in sound art.
Most recently, Alblooshi completed a three-year Research Fellowship with NYU Abu Dhabis Music and Sound Cultures group, where her work contributed to advancing both scholarly and artistic dialogues on sound in contemporary culture. Through her practice, she continues to expand the role of sound art in the UAEs cultural landscape, bridging research, community engagement, and creative expression.
