Sherine Tohamy is an oud soloist, being the first female to graduate with distinction from Bait Al Oud, Egypt, and the third overall. Since 2002, she has been a professor at Bait Al Oud (Egypt – UAE) and New York University Abu Dhabi. In addition to holding a BA in French Mass Communication from Cairo University, Sherine has worked as a TV director.
Sherine has released four music albums and performed globally in festivals, concerts, and participated in several workshops. She also recorded oud music for the soundtrack of the popular video game Assassin’s Creed.
In 2011, she founded Najmaat, the Arab world’s first all-female musical group.
Sherine has mentored and graduated many students, some of whom are now oud professors themselves.”
