Yuncong Ma
Ma Yuncong is a pipa player and educator dedicated to promoting Chinese folk music and cultural exchange. A graduate of New York University, she studied from an early age under the renowned pipa master Professor Li Kunli, developing both technical mastery and expressive artistry.
Her performances include prestigious venues and events such as the Rose Hall at Lincoln Center (New York), the NYU Center for the Arts, the Abu Dhabi Culture and Arts Center, the Abu Dhabi Arts Festival (ADMAF), the 75th National Day celebrations of the Chinese Embassy in the UAE, and the Dragon Award 2025 at ADNEC. In 2023, she was invited to perform in Pipa master Fang Jinlongs Music of the Book of Songs and the Chinese Music World Tour Abu Dhabi. In 2024, she appeared in CCTVs documentary Charming UAE, showcasing her artistry to a wide audience.
Now based in Abu Dhabi, Yuncong is committed to teaching and promoting Chinese traditional culture, with a particular focus on fostering dialogue between the pipa and the oud, building cultural bridges through music.
